GTNF 2016: Hotel Metropole Brussels
19th-century elegance with 21st-century efficiency
The five-star Hotel Metropole in Brussels is our hotel and event venue for 2016.
The hotel is just 7 miles/11 kilometers from Brussels Airport. The de Brouckere tram stop and metro station opposite the hotel makes it easy to travel to and from the center of Brussels, with the magnificent central Grand Place/Grote Markt square, at the heart of the city, just a 10- to 15-minute stroll away.
Generously proportioned rooms and suites are furnished and decorated in elegant early 20th-century style. (There are 16 smoking rooms available.) All rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi and satellite TV.
The business center in the hotel’s lobby provides not just Internet access, photocopying, computers, fax and telephone, but also friendly English-speaking staff to help get the job done. There is also a fully-equipped fitness center and a 24-hour concierge service.
The Hotel Metropole opened its doors as a cafe in 1890 but by 1894 had expanded its ambitions to become a magnificent hotel, decorated and furnished with the finest artwork and materials. The hotel has held prestigious national and international events since 1911, hosting scientific stars including Einstein and Marie Curie.
During World War II, the Metropole was headquarters for both German and Allied commanders, and after the war welcomed General Charles de Gaulle, Dwight Eisenhower and Herbert Hoover, among others. Today, no fewer than seven purpose-built event spaces feature the very latest in comfort and technology behind their gracious period decor.
We are delighted to be holding the GTNF 2016 event at the Hotel Metropole and look forward to meeting you there in September. To register and book your “Art Deco” or “Baroque” accommodation package and event attendance, please go to: 2016 GTNF Registration. (link to Registration process page here)
